The 448th transplant, in Mohali

Rotary Club Hoshiarpur Midtown (26559), Rotary District 3070, together with the Plano Metro Rotary Club of Plano, Texas, restored the sight of a corneal blind patient — a 28-year-old man from Ferozepur district, Punjab — under the project Corneal Transplant: Mission Gift of Sight.

The transplant was performed by Dr. Rohit Gupta at Tricity Eye Hospital, Mohali, on behalf of Guru Ka Langar Eye Hospital, Sector 18-B, Chandigarh, under the MOU signed between Rotary Club Hoshiarpur Mid Town (3070), the Rotary Club of Plano Metro (5810) and Guru Ka Langar Eye Hospital.

Transplants are done entirely free of cost — the operation, the cornea and the medicines. This was the 448th corneal transplant under the project.
